desktop-profiles software package provides framework for setting up desktop profiles, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install desktop-profiles
desktop-profiles is installed in your system.
Make ensure the desktop-profiles package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep desktop-profiles *
You will get with desktop-profiles package name, version, architecture and description in a table
